Tamika Catchings

Basketball Player Known for her star defensive playing and rebounding, Tamika Catchings is a towering figure in women’s basketball. After playing All-American for the Tennessee Lady Volunteers basketball team (University of Tennessee), the New Jersey-raised baller was drafted by the Indiana Fever in 2001. She was named the WNBA’s “Rookie of the Year” the following year. She was also the league’s defensive player of the year in 2005 and ’06. In 2009, Catchings led the Fever to its first ever Eastern Conference championship. She also plays for the basketball team Galatasaray in Turkey.
