Maxwell

Singer Once classified as part of the neo-soul movement after his 1996 hit “Ascension (Don’t Ever Wonder),” Maxwell’s appeal has stood the test of time—from his remake of Kate Bush’s “This Woman’s Work” to the R.Kelly-penned “Fortunate” that topped the R&B charts in 1999. After a ten-year hiatus from recording, he returned with a #1 album and a Grammy-nominated smash “Pretty Wings.” Many consider the Brooklyn-based crooner’s rendition of Al Green’s “Simply Beautiful” at the 2008 BET Awards a career-defining moment.
