Kool G Rap

Rapper During hip hop’s golden age, the Queens-raised Kool G Rap was considered one of the best rappers and an East Coast pioneer of Mafioso-style gangsta rap. As a member of the Juice Crew, Kool G (born Nathaniel Wilson) introduced his brand of hardcore rap on the pimp-centric single “I’m Fly,” backed on the b-side with the multi-syllabic cut “It’s a Demo.” Backed by DJ Polo, the quick-silver rhymer released such classic rap masterpieces as “Poison,” “Men at Work,” and “Ill Street Blues.”
