Halle Berry

Actress After coming in second in the 1986 Miss USA pageant, Cleveland-native Halle Berry broke into acting in the 1991 Spike Lee film Jungle Fever. In the 1999 HBO bio-pic Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, she portrayed the first black woman to be nominated for an Oscar. She went on to follow in Dandridge’s footsteps, becoming the first black woman to win the Academy Award for Best Actress, which she earned for her gutsy performance in the 2001 film Monsters Ball. A Revlon spokeswoman since the mid-’90s, Berry has made over 30 movies in her career, and she’s also mommy to daughter, Nahla Aubry. In 2013, she was the recipient of a BET Honors award and that same year announced that, at 46 years old, she was pregnant with her second child by fiance Olivier Martinez.
